In the days of togetherness

You like to think that you are what all humans need. You like to believe that you are one of the biggest and best things to have been developed. 18/8 grade stainless steel vacuum insulated – keeps your beverage cold for 24 hours! Hot for 6!

But you are nothing without your cap, you realize. Without your cap, you would be useless. Completely useless. Remember how you were so proud when you first got picked up at the gift store? You trembled at the touch of fingers on your throat, gasped as they circled your waist. You thought, well, look at me now. You believed yourself to be invincible, nary a scratch, 18/8 grade stainless – what a beauty, you thought.

But then you got a bit cocky. You thought you were better than your parts, and you forgot that it is human to forget. And so your human left me one day. Left me on a ball field after tipping over at a soccer game. You lost your cap, and now you are useless. Useless for anything except for flowers. For storage. Like a vase.
