Write a eulogy for a sandwich, to be delivered while eating it. 10 minute free write

My friend Hammy is cursed with a relatively short life but blessed with the gift of nourishment.  Born on the counter of a kitchen table minutes ago, birthed on a bamboo cutting board from the womb of the Maytag fridge in the corner, he saw little of the world. Hammy, is a friend who, despite his assured demise, continues to give joy until the end.  His whole grain bread clings to the roof of my mouth in a lump of soft goodness.  His cheddar is of the American variety – thin processed slices that mimic his bread in its attempts to stick to the roof of my mouth. He was a trendsetter, with his old-fashioned whole seed dijon. And his ham, this ham, the deliciously rich and savory slices sending shivers of pleasure down my spine, this ham indicated a life blessed by the flavor gods.

As the last bits disappear down my throat, I applaud you, Hammy, for a life well lived. Giving, giving, giving until the last, I remain your satiated friend.
